Learn To Prevent Domestic Violence At Midland Park Seminar

MIDLAND PARK, N.J. — The Midland Park Board of Health will hold a free workshop on domestic violence and healthy relationships Wednesday, Jan. 27 at the ambulance corps building.

The 7:30 p.m. meeting will provide information on the dynamics of domestic violence, warning signs of unhealthy relationships, how to help a friend, and available community resources.

A speaker from Alternatives to Domestic Violence will talk to the audience.

The Bergen County Alternatives to Domestic Violence, a division of the county department of human services, started 36 years ago.

In 2011, 4,521 incidents of domestic violence were reported to the police in Bergen County, the department's website states.

The program is open to everyone and no registration is needed.

The Midland Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps building is located at 471 Godwin Ave.
